The People, The Place and The Subject

by Sacha Team on December 8, 2009

The difference between Sacha and other chatting and communication services lays in the approach each of those services adopt to serve their users:

  • Instant Messengers are centered on detecting when a friend or a contact goes online in order to chat with him/her.

  • Chat rooms are about bringing people together in one place to discuss a certain subject. Usually rooms are labeled by topics. However there is rarely specified material to discuss and people engage into free discussions and speeches.

While forums are usually more focused and members are required to stick to the subject of the thread otherwise their posts will be deleted, the problem of the forums is the lack of real time interaction, and of course people have to search for the forums which fit their needs. Believe me that's not an easy task.

Sacha takes a different approach to tackle the problem and offers a solution by bringing together the people, the place and the subject.
The place is simply any web page on any website.
The people are the users who are viewing that web page.
The subject is the content of that web page.

So if a number of people is seeing the same web page, they are most probably interested in the subject offered by this web page. If they are interested, chances are they either agree or disagree and probably they would like to say something about it and discuss it with others who are viewing the same web page as well.

This way Sacha connects together people who have the same interest.

The story behind Sacha

by Sacha Team on November 14, 2009

Since every product or service has to have a story behind it (this is the trend I can't help it), here is the true story of Sacha. Honestly speaking the story is very much true, because ideas come most often from needs you encounter while doing some tasks.

Sacha's idea started very much differently, the first version of the idea saw light in brainstorming session with a friend. The aim was to come up with something that increases collaboration and be useful for internet users in general. The idea was still blurred because we were unable to find something that fits the vision.

Months passed until two events happened to me in person and gave me a clearer concept of what Sacha should be.

Once I was reading an article on some news website and I was really mad about the content, I was outraged by the "nonsense" (personal opinion) contained in this article. Logically, I decided to comment on it and express my opinion and show the disagreement with the author.
I posted my comment and waited till it appears online, however minutes passed without seeing it. I thought it was some technical problem, so I posted again and waited for 2 hours but without any results.
I repeated my attempt the next day and the day after but in vain. While I was seeing other comments praising the author being published, I was unable to make my voice heard.
That's when I realized that the news media was far from being neutral and objective.
I thought "are not there other ways to express my opinion out of the reach of the web masters?"

The next event that occured to me was finding an affordable hotel. I was travelling and I wanted to find an affordable hotel. I found one on Google that is suprisingly cheaper than the others in the same area!
I emailed it and asked about the options it has (very basic ones) but the reply was really suspicious to me. Since it was cheap and I am going to stay for several weeks there I was tempted. However, minutes from booking and submitting my credit card, I decided to search on Google for some feedbacks.
The results were EXTREMELY NEGATIVE. I found many forums in which people were telling horrible stories about this hotel.
For the second time I asked myself "wouldn't be much easier for me if I had this info right on the hotel website or even chat with people on that website to share their experiences?"

From these two events, I knew what will Sacha have to accomplish. It should be a new dimension to be added to the web, and is 100% FREE of the web masters control, where people can communicate information and share experience, without the need to subscribe to many specialized websites and be under their control.

The Interactive Web!

by Sacha Team on November 8, 2009

When you are browsing the web you are most likely searching for something like a product, service, info, or may be just for fun.

Suppose you have found what your are looking for, or probably something similar. What would you do next?
Most probably you will start a decision process.
Would you take what you are viewing on that web page, whether it is a product or service or just an informational article for granted, or would you go for a little research?
Chances are that you google again the product/service/article to get a feedback about it, especially if your credit card is on the stake. You check the forums to see what people are saying about this stuff, and may be you would join to discuss the subject.

In short once you have found your item, you will enter another circle of indecision (unless you are 100% sure of what you are doing of course).
Have you ever thought, what would it be if there are some people around to ask them about that item, or may be just read their feedback?

This is a real issue! It is wonderful to feel that you are not alone!
It is just amazing to get the sense that the web is alive and there is someone over there with whom you can instantly share your opinion and experience .

Sacha is meant to offer you all that.

What about politics!

by Sacha Team on November 8, 2009

Those of you who are politically oriented will appreciate better the content of this blog.
Whether you are a politcial, environmental, humanitarian or other type of activist, you surely agree that there is no worse feeling for a person than to read an article that is against his convictions and could not comment on it, or reply and defend his position.

Rare are the websites that allow people to post against their political direction, especially if that post contains some real value in it.
Conversely they are more prone to publish a post that is insulting them with non-sense and rubbish than a post which contains logical critics!
If you are asking why would they do that, the reason is very simple and obvious.
If they publish your crap, they present you and of course your political line to their readers as low level, brain washed person, who does not tolerate different opinions and does not believe in democracy and the right to disagree.

By acting this way they victimise themselves and implicitly tell supporters and sympathizers:
WE ARE PERSECUTED BECAUSE OF WHAT WE BELIEVE IN.

Luckily with Sacha, you are no more at risk of having your voice shutdown.
Sacha will allow you to post your comments on any website and express your opinion without fearing that your opinion will be suppressed.

Using Sacha you can easily locate other activist whether fellows or foes.
You can get engaged in a discussion with them...
And propably put your convincing skills on test...
